What are Scars and Keloids?

Scar tissue tends to be rather different to the tissue it is repairing or replacing. Usually scar tissue will be tougher or harder, commonly discolored, and hair folicle or sweat glands will not grow back.

Scars are a natural part of your body’s healing process. Skin scars usually form after injury, or surgery. They occur when the dermis (the thick layer of skin) is damaged and are a natural way of healing the wound.

Keloid scars tend to be a bit more serious. Keloids are essentially an overgrowth of tissue usually after injury or surgery (such as the removal of a mole). However keloids have been known to occur spontaneously.

Although keloids are benign, they can be troublesome since some will continue to grow becoming larger in size. Keloids tend to be more of a cosmetic problem although in some cases may even restrict skin, or other body, movement.

How do I use the product?

Scar Healer medication is applied topically, directly onto the scar, keloid or skin.

How long does Scar Healer take to work?
