It has been estimated that approximately 40 million women suffer from low libido or lack of sexual desire. Low libido in women is characterized by difficulty to obtain an arousal and the inability to achieve orgasm. Mostly, conditions like these happen temporarily but worse cases can lead to a diagnosis of chronic female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD). There is a controversial study in the medical world that claims that 43-56 percent of women all over the world suffer from low libido at least once in their lifetime. The same theory challenges the idea that low libido in women only happens during menopausal stage. As a matter of fact, it is otherwise, as most gynecologists would agree that FSAD cases primarily happen during their young adulthood up to midlife.
There are several possible factors that may cause the decline of women’s libido. These are primarily physical changes such as hormonal imbalance and psychosocial issues that affect a woman’s health, emotions and moods.
