Did you know that 30 percent of people don’t get any exercise at all during the winter? And those that do often get less than they would during the warmer months of the year. Often winter is busy because of the holidays, it is cold and bitter outside, and it is dark and dreary. All this adds up to the unhealthy habit or not getting enough physical activity during the winter.
Joining a gym is a great way to get more exercise during the winter. Not only does it provide a warm, safe place to work out; it can also help you combat winter depression by giving you someplace to get out to, and helping you socialize and meet new people. They also have expert staff to help give you a workout and diet plan, and encourage you along the way.Â
The gym isn’t the only place you can go to get a workout while staying warm in the winter. You can go to a local mall or other large indoor area to take a walk. You can take a casual stroll through while window shopping, or come in early for some power walking to get your heart rate up in the morning. In addition to being a safe, warm place to get some exercise, many malls have walking clubs you can join for extra perks and even discounts.

While you may think of people who are stressed as overworked, middle aged people with families, the fact of the matter is that anyone can feel stressed. Even very young children experience this emotion and as a parent, you have to teach your child to deal effectively with stress.
Growing up is stressful. Kids have a lot to learn in life and each situation brings about stress that will make your child feel tension. When you think about it, you know that even babies feel stress. When they have a wet diaper, if they are hungry, if they are not being held correctly, they cry and that is stress. As children grow, they still suffer from the stress of life. Think about a child of two. They are expected to learn rules of the house, how to get along with others and potty training, too. That is enough to stress anyone out.
Of course, stress for children does not stop after the terrible twos. It continues. Your child may have separation anxiety, will have to get used to routines at school and then they will feel stress learning how to read, write and how to behave at school. You can help your child through these stressful situations. It will be a good idea to teach your child these coping skills at an early age. Children that can learn to adapt to situations early in life will fare better as they approach adulthood.
